When
you email or phone us we will need to
collect information such as your name, the
type of pets, the dates
that you require service,
and whether your pet has
any medical conditions or
behavioral concerns.
If you decide to use our
services we will then set up a
free
consultation (approx. 30 to 60 min.) with you.
Sorry,
we cannot provide care without a prior in-home consultation
At the consultation your
sitter will:
* meet you and your pets
* review what services
you require, and what
routine you would like followed
* review our Sitting or
Dog Walking policies
* pick 2 copies of your
house key (one as a
backup) and
your mail box key.
* set up a Services Agreement
and
Veterinary
Release form.
* review a copy of
your pet's current vaccination
record.
We require that all pets that normally go outdoors be vaccinated
against rabies.
Any dogs walked with a dog from
another
home must also be protected against
"kennel cough"
(dog walks are private or semi-private
depending on the
wishes of the owners).
If you can't find your pet's
records,
your vet
will be happy to make a copy for you.
Any pets that will be going outside
while in our care must have some
form of ID (tag, microchip,
or tattoo). All dogs must have a regular
collar available (as opposed to only a choke collar) as well
as a regular (non-retractable) leash.
Your sitter will
then file the completed forms
and store the keys
securely at the office.
If required to come back
another time for
papers or keys, there
is a $10 charge
($15 in Area Two) for each additional trip.
There is no charge
for key pick-up at the initial consultation.
Please note that
the dates you request are not reserved until
completion of a Service
Agreement, receipt of keys,
and payment in full
or a 50% deposit (pet-sitting), or in the case of
dog walking/"relief
breaks" two weeks payment in
advance.
